WELCOME TO THECOMMANDER'S CORNER

The CIVIL AIR PATROL is presently going through some difficult times. The world political issues coupled with the hardships created by our present economic conditions are having a negative impact on our operations. Yet, I am confident that we have some of the best volunteers in the world capable of surmounting any obstacle placed in their way. During these difficult times I am asking our members to take some time and review CAP'S core values.

To meet our responsibilities to the citizens of our country and to ensure that we follow the mandates in our charter, every member, and most importantly commanders, of the Civil Air Patrol are guided by the Civil Air Patrol’s core values of Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence and Respect. We respect our members by communicating with them in ways that demonstrate that we care enough about them to let them know the “why” behind decisions. We make volunteer service important by placing emphasis on safety and training, showing our members that the time they give to CAP is valuable and we won’t squander it on irrelevant meetings. We show our commitment to excellence by carefully selecting our leaders, mentoring them to learn their job and helping them to move into the next position. In my opinion integrity is the most important of the core values. Integrity is not something you can assume as you are given command. You are recognized as a leader and people choose to follow you because you have displayed integrity as a part of your journey through the organization.

Remember, our mission requires a team effort. Each of you is  an intrical part of our team. I am confident that all of you will do your part to help CAP meet its mission goals and objectives.

I would like to thank all of you for all your hard work in making 2011 a successful year for the Region. I look forward to working with you during this coming year.
